Initially, the camp was planned for the summer of 2020, but for all known reasons, it was decided to open the camp in 2021, in the hope that young people from the Polish city-Elk will be able to take part in it. However, the hopes were not destined to come true and the camp will be held with the participation of only Russian children.

The idea of holding the camp was born back in 2017, then the period of preparation of the project application followed, and in 2019 it became known – there will be a camp!

The holding of the camp "In Russian traditions" was a logical continuation of another project of the organization – the Congress of Slavic Youth, which was held in Sovetsk since 2015. Its main task was to introduce the youth of Sovetsk and Elk (the Polish Republic) to Russian traditions, rituals, crafts.

As you know, the attention of modern youth is mostly focused on what is happening here and now, for many – the Internet has replaced friends, libraries, museums, theaters. Few of them already know how to make amulets and or what was the tradition of Russian hospitality and tea drinking. If you ask what is "Lapta" or "Towns" - hardly anyone will be able to answer this question. And for sure, none of them represents all the colorfulness of wedding ceremonies.

The camp program is designed in such a way that participants can not only learn about all this in theory but also take an active part in the rituals, make a clay toy, a charm or paint a Russian matryoshka with their own hands. 15 experts will conduct master classes. Negotiations are currently underway with 3 more experts. So, perhaps, their number will increase.

Not only the educational part of the camp will be rich for the participants. So on the first day, the participants will see a performance of the folk group "Heather", after which they will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of the Russian folk"Evening". On the second day, the quest "The Riddle of the Russian Soul" will be held. And on the last day of the camp, they will be waiting for a quest-game "Russian folk tales".

We really hope that our "pilot" camp will get its further continuation, will find sponsors and interest from young people!

The project is implemented by three partners. The leading parterre is the Center of Culture of the city of Elk (the Polish Republic), partners from the Kaliningrad region of GBUK TYUZ "Molodezhny" (Tilsit Theater), KRMOO "Center for Youth Initiatives".

The implementation period is from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021.
The budget of the entire project is 31,539,228. 9 rubles (444,115. 90 €), including the contribution of the EU and the Russian Federation: 28,379. 00 rubles (399,704. 31 €)
